Survivor Recap April 17th 2008
April 17th, 2008 | by superhush |Remember last season when James had two immunity idols and still managed to get voted off? Maybe the fans do, but this week on Survivor, one of the favorites didn’t learn anything from seasons past.
Tonight’s episode began with the Dabu (it means hello in Micronesian…right?) discussing Eliza’s play of the fake idol. Eliza has since said that she knew the idol was a fake, but had to give it a shot.
In the Reward Challenge, two teams are created among the nine players via a school yard pick. Cirie was not chosen and was sent to Exile Island. The teams consist of Natalie, James, Parvati,and Alexis and the orange team is made up of Jason, Ozzy, Erik, and Amanda.
For the task, players needed to swim and climb under and over a net tunnel, and then swim to a platform where they would study Micronesian symbols. They would then swim back, go through the net tunnel, and swim to shore to recreate the board onshore exactly as it was on the platform. To make the task more difficult, there are dummy pieces that do not match the platform pieces.
Jason, Ozzy, Erik and Amanda win and are taken to small unknown country where they are treated to a feast…a topless feast. As Erik put it, they were served by “lunch lady with no top on.” Erik also indulges a bit too much on the Micronesian brew and ends up zooking that night.
At the Immunity Challenge the Survivors are tempted with all sorts of candy, cookies, and other treats. As Survivors give up their shot at Immunity for snacks, Jason and Parvati end up the final two. After some negotiating, and reassurance from everyone that he would be safe (with their fingers crossed no less), Jason gives up and lets Parvati win. Ozzy says that Jason just made one of the dumbest moves in Survivor and that he has been outwitted (foreshadowing Ozzy?).
While Ozzy might have thought Jason would be the tribe’s target, he had no way of knowing that Cirie had come up with a plan to get him out. Too trusting of his alliance, Ozzy did not play the Immunity Idol and was sent home. On his way out he says to someone (Amanda?) “I hate you.” Ouch.
