MSN Calls “Fans” Unlikable

May 1st, 2008 | by superhush |

I saw this article on MSN today (Unlikable ‘Fans’ suck life out of ‘Survivor’) and went in thinking, “Who does this writer think she is?” As I kept reading the story I kept thinking to myself, she’s totally got it right.

I don’t know how these “Fans” were chosen, but it seems to me none of them have an admiration for the show the way last season’s Todd did. Not only was Todd a fan, but he also studied the game and figured it out well enough to take home last season’s grand prize.

This season on the other hand…it seems that none of these fans have watched a season of Survivor, let alone study the game. I remember thinking this when Joel was making his play to be the “leader” of the “Fans.” You never want to step up as the leader of the tribe. That just puts a big old target on your back. To last on Survivor you need to be the person who puts ideas in the leaders head - keeping the blood off your hands.

What do you think of this season’s Fans? Are they doing well? Making the show interesting?
